Swap-o-rama-rama PDX combines a clothing swap and DIY workshops to transform the clothes you find into new, wearable works of art.
The basic concept is this: you bring at least two bags of unwanted clothing and a sliding-scale donation of up to $10.
The resulting pile of clothes represents the core ingredient of the event—from this pile, old clothes will get a new lease on life!
Workshops will be available so you can alter, embellish, and otherwise transform these old garments into fabulous new fashion.
Bring at least two bags of clothes that you don't want/can't wear anymore, plus any embellishments, like leftover beads, sequins, ribbon, feather boas, etc.
Needle and thread is very welcome, and please bring your own pair of sewing scissors if you have 'em. (We'll make sure you label it with your name on it -- we get pretty attached to our scissors, too.)
Cost: $10
At The 100th Monkey Studio
110 SE 16th Ave

CHURCH OF CRAFT - FEB 19th
Don't let the word "Church" scare you. It's a fun collective of crafters that have a lot of fun. You never know what juicy Portland tidbit will be revealed!
Come on down to Rimsky's Coffeehouse and meet new people (just like you) and learn a craft while you're at it.
The Portland, Oregon flock meets one Sunday each month.
We meet from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Rimsky-Korsacoffeehouse707 SE 12th (at Alder)
It looks like a red house, right next to Plaid.
At any meeting, you’ll find knitters and crocheters, beaders, wire-workers, stitchers, tiki-carvers, scrapbookers, builders of model rockets, and more. We also take turns hosting craft classes at each meeting. Please email sisterdg@churchofcraft.org if you’d like to teach a class.
Feel free to bring any craft supplies you like, and an extension cord if you’ll need one. Coffee and Rimsky’s spectacular desserts are available. Hope to meet you soon!
